HTC suddenly launched a smartphone aimed at the metaverse and blockchain "virtual universe"

Taiwanese technology company HTC shows that it has not given up on the mobile market when it has just launched a new smartphone, called Desire 22 Pro.

Once a "big man" in the mobile market, HTC has gradually become out of breath and no longer regularly launches new products. Now, the Taiwanese technology company only occasionally launches a new smartphone model, as a way for the technology world to know that "HTC is still a smartphone company".

Recently, HTC has just launched the latest smartphone, called Desire 22 Pro, after a long time of "silence" in the mobile market.

However, instead of a smartphone with a powerful configuration or impressive features to create a highlight in the mobile market, Desire 22 Pro targets the mid-range segment with a configuration that is not too outstanding. HTC says the product will bring features related to the "metaverse virtual universe".

The product owns a 6.6-inch wide screen with Full HD + resolution (2412x1080), 120Hz refresh rate, but only uses LCD technology. Inside is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 695 processor, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, still supports an external memory card slot, a feature that has long been abandoned on many smartphones today.

The product is equipped with a 4,520mAh battery, with 18W charging technology, supports IP67 water resistance, immersed in water to a depth of one meter for 30 minutes.

The back of the product is a 3-camera cluster, with a 64-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5-megapixel depth-of-field camera. The front is a "perforated" camera placed on the screen, with a resolution of 32 megapixels.

HTC's smartphone aims at the "virtual universe" metaverse, with features compatible with the Vive Flow VR virtual reality headset that HTC launched not long ago and supports users to access Viverse, the "virtual universe". Developed by HTC. However, HTC has not yet clarified the features that support the real "virtual universe" of the Desire 22 Pro.

HTC's smartphone also supports the NFT feature (Non Fungible Token - A non-fungible token, a virtual item authenticated by blockchain technology, with a digital signature of the owner - also known as a code chain. NFT), integrates a digital wallet for crypto asset management and gives users a free NFT.

The product will be sold first in the UK market on August 1, with a price of 399 pounds (equivalent to 490 USD), a price that is considered quite high. The technology world commented that with this price, Desire 22 Pro can hardly compete with competitors in the same segment currently on the market.
